Further improvement work is to be carried out on a popular children's play park in Brigg.
Several tonnes of material have already been removed to clear all the paths of debris at Woodbine Park, near South View Avenue, on the edge of the Springbank housing estate.
This will be followed by repainting all the rusty fencing and applying some protective coats to the football goalposts. A site inspection of play equipment is also planned, following a suggestion that some items may need repair/refurbishment or possibly replacement.
Sadly, there has been some vandalism of the roof of the building located in one corner of the park, resulting in leaks on the area below used by youngsters.
Brigg Town Council's latest meeting also received an update on the new allotments site being created on previous grassland at the Preston Drive end of Woodbine Park.
This project has experienced delays but will be completed in due course.
A chalk layer installed to aid drainage is to be covered with top soil to create plots on which local people can grow vegetables and soft fruit.
The tenants will be renting their allotments through Brigg Town Council.
The Woodbine Park facility will replace the one located at the northern end of Grammar School Road, where the site is earmarked for future development.
Plots off Atherton Way/Redcombe Lane will continue to operate as before.
