BRIGGENSIANS v LIMESTONE RANGERS AT BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB - REPORT & PICTURES

Action from the last game of the football season between Briggensians and Limestone Rangers at Brigg Town FC on April 30, 2022

Although Briggensians usually play their home games at Brigg Recreation Ground, they ended the 2021/22 season in the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District Football League's top flight at Brigg Town's ground, losing 3-0 to Limestone Rangers yesterday (Saturday, April 30).
Briggensians have finished second from bottom in Division One with two wins and two draws from 14 league fixtures.
Had they managed a win yesterday, the local lads would have finished an important place higher in the rankings.
Brigg Blog popped down to the former Hawthorns to see how Craig Benson's team were doing in the early stages.
They managed to create some chances, particularly when attacking down the right flank.
However, the third-placed side from Willoughton secured all three points with goals from Marco Sotgiu, Billy Warriner and David Betts.
These pictures were taken from an unusual vantage point... the home dug-out! Briggensians are wearing the black and white strip.
Briggensians Reserves - not in action yesterday - finished third from bottom in Division Three, with four wins and a draw from a 12-match programme.
