BRIGG TREE TREE REMOVED WITH ANOTHER TO FOLLOW

A 'leaning' tree in Brigg that was posing something of an obstacle to users of the Old River Ancholme has now been dealt with, while consent has been granted to remove another within the town centre.
Brigg Blog posted on April 20 that we had been waiting for some weeks to see if someone would be delegated to deal with a tree not far from the County Bridge.
Pictured here are Before and After pictures taken from the bridge, looking south towards Cadney Road.
Although Ancholme Rowing Club members, based on their nearby boathouse off Manley Gardens, would have been able to steer around the tree after taking to the water, this would have been more difficult for pleasure craft using the Old River.
Consent has now been given to remove a leyland cypress within the Brigg Conservation Area.

It is very close to the main building at Demeter House School, Bigby Street.
We photographed this tree - still standing - a few days ago following North Lincolnshire Council planners announcing their decision.
Meanwhile, notice of intention has been given to prune two lime trees, also within the Conservation Area.
They are rooted in a grass verge outside Ivy Cottage, Albert Street (see picture below).
A public consultation period is under way and will conclude on May 24.
