BRIGG RESIDENTS TO ATTEND TONIGHT'S MAYOR-MAKING CEREMONY

A major civic event will be held at a Brigg town centre venue tonight (Tuesday, May 24) and it's open to interested members of the public who wish to attend.
Our Town Mayor, to serve for the next 12 months, will be formally voted into office by fellow councillors during Brigg Town Council's annual meeting, starting at 7pm..
This will take place in the Angel Suite (the former Angel Hotel ballroom) adjoining Exchange Place.
Entry to the function suite tonight will be through the Rotunda adjoining the rear car park.
Following its Mayor-making ceremony, the council will discuss the purchase of new litter bins and seating, together with one application for a cash grant.
There will also be an update about providing wildflowers within the town.
The agenda item 'Public Participation' permits local people to raise any issues they wish to see considered by councillors.
There will also be a report/update tonight on North Lincolnshire Council issues which relate to the town.
This will come from the Brigg & Wolds Ward representatives Coun Rob Waltham and Couns Carl and Nigel Sherwood.
It promises to be an interesting meeting, featuring much of interest to local people. Brigg Blog will be attending, having reported our first Mayor-making ceremony back in 1980!
