A Brigg school is seeking council approval to provide accommodation for additional employees.
Robert Holme Academy - the town's newest educational establishment - is applying for planning permission to site a mobile residential home to accommodate live-in workers associated with the existing special needs facility at Fircroft, 3 Wrawby Road (sited in a refurbished bungalow).
A statement submitted to North Lincolnshire Council in support of this application explains the special needs school is now in use and proving popular with "demand from all locations."
So the owners now wish to employ a permanent chef/cook and a cleaner to live on-site, which will assist 24-hour site security.
"There is no available space within the existing building and also due to the infancy of the business it is considered that the provision of a mobile home would be more economic in the circumstances," the statement says.
"Therefore the proposal is to apply for permission to site a mobile residential home on the land to the rear of the special needs school."
The proposed rear garden location earmarked for the mobile home is just outside the Brigg Conservation Area.
Brigg Blog recently posted a feature article about the Robert Holme Academy (RHA) and explained the local reason behind the choice of name.
The planning application is now being considered by North Lincolnshire Council, and Brigg Town Council will be consulted as part of the process.
