NEW BRIGG ARCH EARMARKED FOR A PROMINENT PLACE

Exchange Place in Brigg, May 2022, viewed from the Market Place

Another distinctive arch could be added within Brigg town centre's conservation area in what is literally a prominent place.
As part of a Brigg Town Council project, some arches have already been installed at the entrances to historic courtyards and alleyways including Coney Court, Cressey Yard, Chapel Court and College Yard.
When Brigg Town Council holds its next meeting, elected members will discuss providing an arch for Exchange Place - the walkway from the Market Place which adjoins the Angel building and the Lord Nelson Hotel.
This route is used by many people on their way to and from the Angel's municipal car park.
The additional arch plan, to be considered on Tuesday night, will include design, seeking planning permission and the installation.
This will be the Town Council's annual meeting, to be held in the former Angel Suite Ballroom, off Exchange Place, from 7pm, and is open to interested members of the public.
Coun Brian Parker, the Town Mayor, will present cheques to his chosen charities, following fundraising over the previous 12 months.
The annual meeting will include Public Participation when residents can address the council about issues they wish to raise for consideration.
The Town Mayor and the Deputy Town Mayor to serve from May 2022 until May 2023 will both be installed.
Towards the end of the meeting an update will be given about events to be held in the town from June 2 to June 5 to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Tuesday evening, May 24, will also see a meeting of Brigg Town Council Planning & Environment Committee in the Angel Suite Lounge. This is also open to the public.
