Brigg has already erected its beacon on the Millennium Green to form a centre-piece to forthcoming celebrations marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Nearby Scawby intends to do likewise on the village playing field off West Street.
North Lincolnshire Council approval is being sought by Scawby to erect a beacon comprising a centre post, metal basket and shield.
The planning application stresses that what's proposed will have not impact on the Scawby Conservation Area. There are no listed buildings in the immediate vicinity.
The beacon's intended location is some distance from play equipment and sports pitches.
Thursday, June 2 will see beacons being lit across the UK.

Brigg's beacon is pictured above in February 2022, not long after it had been installed. There will also be one lit in Worlaby on June 2.
Scawby Sunbeams are to receive a £250 grant from North Lincolnshire Council towards the cost of a craft party to be held for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
