Already Lincolnshire Senior Trophy winners, the Zebras hosted and beat EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Division One champions College Wanderers in a special challenge match played last night (Friday, May 6).
This fixture generated income for the long-established Ashby Benevolent Fund which assists injured players and marked the local Saturday league's centenary. Entry to the game cost spectators a fiver, and we gather that well over £800 was raised.
