There are more signs that a new licensed bar in Brigg town centre will be established in the not too distant future.
The Vault - earmarked for the former HSBC bank premises in the Market Place - has been advertising a management post, while a further planning application has been submitted to North Lincolnshire Council.
Planners granted approval for this project many months ago, but permission is now being sought to change the ground floor layout of the grade two listed building.
Information submitted with the application explains: "The conversion of the ground floor into a bar will principally involve the removal of the suspended ceilings, glazed and stud partitions. This will open the space and any original features exposed will be retained where practical. The main feature is the Vault and this will be retained and a feature made of it by incorporating it into the new servery."
Work has already been carried out to create a rear car park with new access through a brick wall adjoining the Angel building (see picture).
Vehicles will access The Vault via Elwes Street and the Angel's car park.
A rear beer garden is also indicated on the plans.
"These proposals will help preserve the building for many years," North Lincolnshire planners have been informed.
Their decision on the latest application is awaited, and Brigg Town Council will be consulted as part of the planning process.
A public consultation period is now under way and will end on May 24.
