The railway line in Brigg will see plenty of activity this week.
Although the Northern company's Saturdays-only passenger train service remains suspended for the time being due to Covid-related staff availability issues, Network Rail will be pressing ahead with essential drainage work adjoining its tracks in Brigg and Kettleby.
This extensive project began last Monday, halted over the weekend, but will resume today and continue through to Friday afternoon.
Network Rail has given notice that some brief road closures will be required on the A1084 at the Bigby Road/Bigby High Road barrier crossing.
In addition, the line through Brigg is expected to see ballast and track tamping trains today through to Friday.
From Friday night until next Monday morning, some freight trains which normally use other routes are expected to be diverted along the Brigg line.
