BRIGG WILL SPRING INTO ACTION TO TACKLE LITTER

What could prove to be the biggest community litter pick in Brigg during 2022 is coming up.
Volunteers will be very welcome to join Brigg's contribution to the Great British Spring Clean on Saturday, March 26, from 10am.
Brigg Town Council will co-ordinate the community litter pick and agreed this date during its latest meeting in the Buttercross.
Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker stressed: "We should do this."
It is likely that the tidying work with be carried out in, or near, the town centre.
Keep Britain Tidy's seventh annual #GBSpringClean will take place from March 25 to April 10 and involve many communities across the country.
Brigg Town Council's January meeting saw Coun Rob Waltham recommend the provision of new salt bins in the Atherton Way area.
The contents can be spread to help those walking to and from schools in icy conditions.
Bins are already in place at many locations across the town.
The council has now confirmed the date of its next meeting, to be held on Tuesday, February 22 in the upper floor function room at the Buttercross, starting at 7.15pm.
It will be open to interested members of the public.
