UPDATED STORY: EMERGENCY ROADWORKS IN BRIGG TODAY CAUSING DELAYS

Emergency roadworks in Brigg on Monday, February 21, 2022, to repair a water leak

Emergency roadworks were about to start on the A18 in Brigg this morning (Monday, February 21) with resulting delays for drivers.
Four-way temporary traffic lights were in place by 8am adjoining the Monument roundabout with queuing traffic already evident on Wrawby Road, Wrawby Street, Bigby Street and Bigby Road.
Anglian Water is attending to a major leak which has flooded the hard-standing area of East Park adjoining the Tintab seating shelter.
Water has been running along footpaths into drains on Wrawby Street and Bigby Street (either side of the Britannia) since Saturday - something Brigg Blog reported yesterday.
Pedestrians should note that the pelican (pedestrian) crossing on Wrawby Street, near the China Garden takeaway, remained out of action this morning, as it was over the weekend.
Brigg Blog has already contacted the the water company's headquarters and will update this post with any information received today. We are hoping to obtain an estimate of when the repairs will be completed.

UPDATE, 11.10am Monday: An Anglian Water spokesperson said, “Our teams are onsite repairing a burst water main which occurred over the weekend.  Due to the location and to keep road users and our team safe, we have temporary traffic lights in place.

"Once we have completed the repair and reinstated the road surface we will be able to remove the lights.  We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we complete these emergency repairs.”
