Brigg is to get a new pedestrian crossing on the A18 in May 2022, Coun Rob Waltham revealed during the Town Council's latest meeting in the Buttercross.
The crossing will be located near Ancholme Way on the town's busiest road. Currently there are only traffic islands to assist pedestrians.
Coun Waltham, who is the Leader of North Lincolnshire Council which is our local highway authority, explained that unavoidable delays had been experienced in bringing the scheme to fruition.
The number of pedestrians going between Bridge Street and the town's main shopping area will increase following the completion of almost 70 new properties which are now taking shape on the Falcon housing development and a block of apartments on adjoining land fronting Bridge Street.
