Brigg resident Ken Harrison sought and received an update from Brigg Town Council about its agreement to add the name of Brigg-born Flt Sgt Stanley Cross to one of the Roll of Honour plaques on the base of the Monument War Memorial.
This RAF NCO was killed while on active service during the Second World War, but this sad fact was only drawn to the Town Council's attention late last year, following historic research carried out locally.
Ken raised the matter during the Public Participation section of Brigg Town Council's latest meeting.
Having been informed this addition to the war memorial was in hand and would be carried out once better weather arrived, Ken asked the council to consider a dedication ceremony, to be attended by the Royal British Legion, the RAF Association and others.
