INAUGURAL BRIGG PARKRUN GETS THE SEAL OF APPROVAL

The inaugural Ancholme Valley Way Parkrun in Brigg was declared a great success and received the seal of approval yesterday
(Saturday, February 5, 2022).
There were 222 participants, including many locals and others from as far away as Selby, Rotherham and Hull.
Some of the competitors from Yorkshire were visiting Brigg for the first time and indicated they would be returning.
Brigg Town Mayor, Coun Brian Parker, cut the ribbon at the start, and Dave Brittain was there with his camera to take the pictures seen here.
The organisers noted another "special visitor" - a seal in the River Ancholme. It was eating an early lunch - pike, apparently! This is the first time Brigg Blog has reported the sighting of such a creature on our local river.
