The latest issue of the popular and FREE glossy Brigg Matters magazine has now been printed, with 6,000 copies to be distributed in the near future to domestic properties and businesses in the town and some adjoining settlements.
Initial copies of the Spring 2022 edition were distributed during Brigg Town Council's February meeting, held on Monday evening in the Buttercross, which was attended by the magazine's chairman, Ken Harrison.
Ken has kindly supplied the picture (above) showing "three significant Brigg figures" with their copies earlier this week.
They are Coun Carl Sherwood (left), PC Steve Parsons and Brigg Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker.
Steve, from the Local Neighbourhood Policing team, was in the Market Place for a public liaison session (previewed by Brigg Blog to inform local people).
Ken adds: "Brigg Matters should be dropping through letter-boxes, if they have not done so already, very soon.
"As an aside, see if you can find Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker in a less formal role in the magazine's pages...He's a picture!"
Having checked all councillors had a copy on Monday evening, Ken kindly visited the press bench and passed one to Brigg Blog.
We wasted no time in having a look during breaks in the council discussions.
Those who have penned articles include Josie Webb, of the Brigg Social Historians (BASH) group, Jim Copson, Ancholme Rowing Club; Roy Sheppard, Brigg Town Football Club; Paul Hildreth, Brigg shops; Sian Sargent, Brigg Town Business Parnership and Wrawby Mill; Dave Brittain, Brigg Rotary Club; and gardening expert Sue Hoy. There are many other contributors.
Brigg Blog should again point out that we are not involved with, or responsible for, Brigg Matters.
We were recently contacted by a potential advertiser in the magazine and were happy to give him the Brigg Matters contact email.
Many other people we meet are still under the mistaken impression that we edit the magazine - perhaps because we contribute occasional articles and some pictures (always credited to Brigg Blog) from time to time.
The latest issue of the magazine is No. 64.
Chairman Ken explains in his introductory notes that the people producing Brigg Matters are all volunteers, and that the magazine is non-profit-making and solely financed by the income it receives from advertisers.
There are currently more than 60 of them. Other businesses wishing to book space in the next issue should email briggmatters.advertising@yahoo.com
Deadline for placing ads in the Summer 2022 edition is May 1.
