WELCOME WINS FOR LOCAL FOOTBALLERS IN BRIGG & BARNETBY

There were welcome home wins for local football teams playing at Brigg Recreation Ground and Silver Street in Barnetby yesterday (Saturday, February 12). Both got the wind in their sails on a blustery afternoon.
In EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District Football League Division One, Briggensians beat Manor Park 1-0 at Brigg Recreation Ground with a goal by Michael Clements. This was the Brigg side's first Div One win of the 2021/22 campaign.
Barnetby United picked up their first league top flight win for some months with an emphatic 7-1 success against Baltic Boys. Match below from Lee Fielden, who has also supplied the pictures seen here.
In Division Three, Briggensians Reserves suffered a 6-0 defeat at top-of-the-table Ashby Park Rangers.

BARNETBY BACK TO WINNING WAYS

The Railwaymen picked up their first league win since September with an emphatic 7-1 victory at home to Baltic Boys, writes Lee Fielden.
On a blustery day at Silver Street, Brendan O’Callaghan put Barnetby 2-0 up early on with a cool finish and a direct corner effort.
Ryan Jordan then ran through to make it 3-0... and moments later Terry Carolan made it 4-0, finishing off a sweeping move.
Following a defensive mix up, Darius Mikuzis reduced the Baltic Boys deficit on the stroke of half-time.
The conditions worsened in the second half but O’Callaghan was able to complete his hat-trick to make it 5-1; his header then made it 6-1 and his fifth goal of the game (and 33rd of the season) followed a Jake Parker assist to round off the scoring.
Barnetby United are wearing the black and white kit in Lee's match pictures.
