BRIGG CLEAN UP TO FOLLOW EMERGENCY WATER REPAIRS BESIDE A18

East Park in Brigg is to be cleared of mud and silt following emergencywater repairs carried out in late February 2022

Anglian Water is planning a Brigg clean up after the emergency repairs undertaken on Wrawby Street, near the Monument roundabout, earlier this week.
Following a mains burst alongside the A18 on Saturday, repairs started early on Monday morning and were completed on Wednesday afternoon, when the temporary four-way traffic lights were removed to restore the free flow of vehicles after some lengthy tailbacks.
A great deal of water flowed from the site of the burst into drains on Wrawby Street and Bigby Street, either side of the Britannia Inn, until this was stemmed.
The latter flow flooded East Park's paths and left behind a good deal of mud and silt (photographed here yesterday).
Part of Wrawby Street, near the pub, was similarly affected.
Anglian Water's team will be meeting with local highways representatives today (Friday) to discuss the clean up, any consequential damage that needs rectifying and the removal of silt.
"Should any of our assets cause issues, we always aim to clear the site and this will be done shortly," a company spokesperson informed Brigg Blog yesterday.
