REPLACEMENT 'FAMILY HOME' IN BRIGG GIVEN PLANNING APPROVAL

 

 

More than a year after its submission, a Brigg planning application has now been decided.
Approval has been granted to erect a replacement dwelling on land to the west of Mill Lane.
The location is some 56 metres from the grade two listed windmill after which this street is named.
In December 2020 when the DN20 8NY application was made public by North Lincolnshire Council, Brigg Blog said: "Currently there is a disused and boarded-up house on the site.
"The proposal is for a two-storey dwelling on a similar scale to the existing one."
The applicant indicated that the new dwelling "would be a betterment on the existing property and would improve the visual impact of the plot whilst providing more modern and up-to-date facilities for a family home."
A statement in support of the proposed scheme pointed out that two industrial outbuildings had been built adjoining the old mill, and stressed: "The proposals will not create any adverse cumulative impact upon the listed building in addition to the existing development in its setting."
Consulted about the application, Brigg Town Council said in January 2021 it had no objections.
A recently compiled North Lincolnshire planning officer's assessment report said: "It is considered the proposed replacement dwelling would not prejudice the character and appearance of the local area or countryside."
Planning permission was subsequently granted.
