Brigg Blog is very pleased to report a big turn-out in support of a local event for a really good cause.
A family quiz was arranged at Brigg & District Servicemen's Club to raise funds in support of four local Scouts who are keen to make 'trips of a lifetime' to a global event in the Far East.
The concert room at the Coney Court venue was packed with people on Friday night (February 4).
Brigg Explorer Scouts Millie Leahy, Alex Bennett, Theo Price and Oliver Woodliffe, who are members of the 1st and 2nd Brigg Group, began "their fundraising journey" to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea.
One of the leaders kindly took these ‘crowd shots' during what was a great night.
The event raised more than £600 through the quiz, raffle, 'chocolate bingo' and bottle stall.
It was really well supported by Cubs, Beavers, Scouts, Explorers and their families and friends, plus (we are told) people who had seen the posters and pre-publicity. In Brigg Blog's case, we were only too happy to help.
Special thanks have been extended to quiz master Ollie White, from The Nelson, who did a brilliant job.
People were asking on Friday night when the next quiz is going to be held. This is already in the planning stage.
The next fundraiser will be a Mother's Day afternoon tea. Brigg Blog will post details once the necessary arrangements have been finalised.
