BRIGG BANK 'APPS' DISCUSSED BY COUNCILLORS

Brigg Town Council has now considered and commented on the planned removal of the Barclays Bank cashpoint machine.
With its town branch closing for ever on Friday, January 21, 2022 Barclays applied for planning permission and listed building consent to remove the ATM machine and surround and replace them with a sliding sash window, plus the removal of existing external signage and make repairs to underlying brickwork at 9 Market Place.
These applications were submitted to North Lincolnshire Council, with the town authority being consulted as part of the planning process.
Brigg's Planning & Environment Committee, meeting in the Buttercross, did not object to the applications but requested that timber sash windows are used and that repairs are carried out to the front door.
Chairing the meeting, Coun Sharon Riggall suggested a
need to attend to the door and said 9 Market Place was within the conservation area.
Coun Jane Kitching called for wooden window frames and noted that Barclays wanted to remove the ATM. After NatWest had shut its Brigg Market Place branch, the ATM had remained blocked up for a long time.
Brigg Town Council has raised no objects to the following recently submitted applications which North Lincolnshire authority planners will now decide, in due course...
Change of use of ground floor from storage to offices and showroom including new external windows to the east and rear ground floor and air conditioning units to the rear, and advertisement consent to display various signs and replace signs on existing flag poles at Cranidge House, Bridge Street.
Demolish existing rear annexe and erect a two-storey extension to enlarge kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, carry out alterations to front elevation windows and remove existing chimney stack at 7 Poplar Drive.
Erect a single dwelling including access and parking arrangement changes at 3 Eastfield Road.
Erect a single-storey front extension and sub-divide existing unit to provide vehicle repair garage at Unit 5, Island Carr Road.
