PUBLIC WELCOME AT TONIGHT'S BRIGG TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

Just a reminder for community-minded Brigg residents... our Town Council will be holding its monthly meeting tonight (Tuesday, November 23) with many topics of local interest to be discussed and/or decided.
This session starts at 7.15pm on the upper floor of the Buttercross, in the Market Place (seen above).
Members of the public are welcome to attend and can, if they wish, raise issues of interest to them, or just opt to sit and observe the discussions.
The public forum is an early item on an agenda which councillors are expected to take some time to work their way through.
This will include discussing a planned temporary bridge arch to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee next June.
There will also be a meeting of the Planning & Environment Committee tonight, from 6.45pm, which is open to the public.
Brigg Blog will be reporting all items of note from both meetings in posts over the coming days.
The duties of Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker (pictured above, left) include chairing the Town Council's monthly meeting.
Ex-Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall (above, right) chairs the Planning & Environment Committee which considers the latest planning applications submitted within the town. At least two will be considered tonight.
The committee's remit also includes any plans to hold markets.
This is expected to be the council's last meeting of 2021; a session is not usually held in December.
