Brigg Town Council members will be asked to approve a scheme to improve the appearance of the main Old Courts Road car park when their next monthly meeting is held on Tuesday evening (November 23).
The suggestion is to plant a hedge to replace the current shrubs which ring the perimeter of the car park, but with a number of gaps between them which people use as shortcuts.
These low-level shrubs are among the first things seen by visitors to the town once they have parked their vehicles.
Tuesday night's council meeting will also be asked to approve the erection of a temporary arch on the County Bridge for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee next June.
There will be a report from the Brigg & Wolds councillors detailing Brigg-related topics of interest from their North Lincolnshire authority.
Starting at 7.15pm, this session will be held on the upper floor of the Buttercross, in the Market Place, and is open to interested members of the public. Access is through the side door (close to the former NatWest bank) with stairs and a lift available.
Unless exempted, visitors are requested to wear a mask until they take their seats in the public gallery; this is a Covid 19-related precaution and also applies to councillors and others attending.
On Tuesday, members of the public may raise issues of interest to them (an early item on the agenda). Where possible the council will respond immediately, but in some cases it may be necessary to give a reply at a later date.
Also open to interested members of the public on Tuesday is a meeting of Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee at the same venue from 6.45pm. The committee will discuss the latest local planning applications submitted for consideration.
