ENTRIES NOW BEING TAKEN FOR NEXT BRIGG POPPY 10K AND MILITARY CHALLENGE

Thanks go to Ken Harrison, of Brigg Matters magazine, for these pictures of last Sunday's Brigg Poppy 10k and Military Challenge 2021 which went from the town centre to Cadney and back again.
Having ruined a digital camera some years ago by taking pictures during heavy rain, we cancelled our scheduled visit to this race and to Brigg Recreation Ground for the Sunday football derby between Black Bull and Barnetby (abandoned at half-time due to the adverse weather with the Brigg team 3-0 up).
We met up with Ken, by chance, in the Market Place on Friday afternoon and he's emailed through some of his images from the race. Others will appear in the next issue of Brigg Matters.

Also featured here is Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker (wearing his chain of office) with fire-fighters from the Brigg station, which is currently recruiting for more people to join the ranks. Call in if you are interested.
Ken stresses: "Weather conditions were atrocious....the camera became saturated and affected by rain and fogging."
Doncaster-based Curly's Athletes organised the event - view pictures and full details through this link...
We note that entries are already being taken for the 2022 event on October 30.
