NEW PROPERTY WITH A VIEW APPROVED IN BRIGG

Approval has been given to build a new house in Brigg which will enjoy a fine view of an attractive stretch of river from its upper floors.
North Lincolnshire Council has approved the dwelling for a vacant plot of land adjoining Lyng Place which already has a number of properties facing the nearby Old River Ancholme.
The land for this proposed detached addition is close to the tree-lined section of Cadney Road and also Candley Beck bridge.
Information submitted to the council in support of the application indicated the detached dwelling would have four bedrooms (on three levels) and a garage. It was intended to replace the site's current metal fencing with one of timber construction, the statement explained.
"The proposed new detached house is of a similar physical volume to the existing properties along Lyng Place and is positioned at the beginning of this private road," council planners were informed.
"The proposed new dwelling will be a welcome addition to what is presently a vacant plot of land on a residential private road."
Brigg Town Council was consulted as part of the planning process and raised no objections.
The public consultation period for this application ended on August 7; North Lincolnshire Council's decision date was November 18.
These pictures show the site proposed for the dwelling and its location, including a view looking across the Old River Ancholme towards Manley Gardens on the far bank.
