Pupils representing Brigg schools planted crosses in the flowerbeds adjoining the town's Monument war memorial yesterday (Friday, November 12) in remembrance of those in the Forces who gave their lives while in the service of their country.
The Town Mayor's Chaplain, Keith Simpson, presided at the ceremony which was co-ordinated by Brigg Town Council.
It involved youngsters from the following schools: Demeter House, Brigg Primary, St Mary's, the Vale Academy and Sir John Nelthorpe. A two-minute silence was observed at 11am.
The bugler was Steve Healy; also in attendance were Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker, fellow town councillors, Town Clerk Kerry McGrath, North Lincolnshie Council leader Coun Rob Waltham, the Royal British Legion, Brigg Rotary Club members... and many others.
Ken Harrison, of Brigg Matters magazine, has kindly shared some of his pictures taken at yesterday's ceremony. More will appear in the not-for-profit community publication's forthcoming issue.
