BRIGG CHARITY FUNDRAISERS HELPING WORTHY CAUSES IN ALL WEATHERS

This is proving to be a busy time for volunteers in Brigg who are working hard to raise awareness and money to combat cancer as efforts continue to beat different forms.
On a very blustery Saturday (October 30) the Brigg Prostate Cancer Fundraising Group braved the weather to hold a collection in the Bandstand, Paul McCormick informs us.
"Through the generosity of the people of Brigg we managed to raise £242, which will go straight to Prostate Cancer UK, he says. "Our thanks to all who came along to say hello!"
Paul has kindly forwarded a picture (seen above left) taken in the Market Place; he's second from left.
Meanwhile, the landmark Angel building near the Bandstand is expected to get
a purple hue - this being the colour associated with tackling pancreatic cancer, which claims many lives.
North Lincolnshire Council, which owns the Angel, is again supporting Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (November 2021).
World Pancreatic Cancer Day is coming up on Thursday, November 18.
The Brigg & District Pancreatic Cancer Action fundraising group is asking local people to please support its stall at the next Brigg Farmers' Market on Saturday, November 27. If you are attending this market, consider making a contribution to a worthy cause.
