Brigg Town Council has no objections in principle to the granting of planning permission to establish a new special school at Fircroft, on Wrawby Road, between Beldon House and the Health Place offices. But is does have concerns regarding access and traffic build up when the school is operational.
The views of the Planning & Environment Committee - expressed at its latest meeting - have now been forwarded to North Lincolnshire Council, which will make the final decision in due course. 'Change of use' planning permission is being sought from a clinic to a special needs school.
Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall wondered where the children would be dropped off by bus.
Fircroft- 3 Wrawby Road - is pictured above, with Beldon House to the right. Beldon House is NOT connected with the application.
Other applications were considered by the committee during a busy 'virtual' meeting held online through the Zoom facility.
21 Albert Street: Divide one existing dwelling into two dwellings, including associated works. (No objections raised by the town authority)
Nicolgate, 26 Wrawby Road: Demolish existing pre-fabricated garage and erect new garage with studio above. (No objections raised).
11a Wrawby Road: Fell an Ash tree, identified as T1 within, and subject to, Tree Preservation (Wrawby Road, Brigg) Order 1985: "Brigg Town Council considers the tree to be healthy, with no valid reason to remove."
Final decisions on these applications will be taken by North Lincolnshire Council planners.
