EXTENSIONS PROPOSED FOR MID-19TH CENTURY BRIGG PROPERTY NEAR A18

Plans have been submitted to add extensions to a well-known Brigg building which overlooks the A18.
It is proposed to erect a two-storey extension to the front of Cemetery Lodge, 30 Wrawby Road, and extensions to the rear elevation, with associated external alterations.
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering the application and Brigg Town Council will be consulted as part of the planning process.
A design statement accompanying the application says the proposed extensions will be different to the existing property's architectural style. "This is intentional and, in my opinion, will add additional character to the property and not detract from it," the applicant says.
"I feel that the timber-clad extensions will offer a contrasting style between the new and old and create a stylish, aesthetically pleasing look.
"Since being built in the mid-1850s, this building has changed in both appearance and function and I feel strongly that the extensions will allow the building to evolve further, so that in its next 150 years its function as a family home is reflected and its build history is clear."
The public consultation period set by North Lincolnshire Council for this application ends on December 4.
