Members of the public will be able to watch the town's Remembrance Sunday commemorations on the internet for the first time.
People are being asked NOT to meet up near the Monument war memorial on Sunday morning (November 8) because of Coronavirus emergency restrictions on gatherings. Please comply with this request.
However, Brigg Town Council will be providing a 'live feed' from 10.30am. This will be done through the council's Facebook page. Here's the link you need to access the video footage.
The wreaths will be laid before the two-minute silence at 11am, in line with new Government Guidance received on Tuesday.
Please note that the Remembrance Sunday parade through town centre streets and the service at St John's Church have also been cancelled.
Those people involved in Sunday's dignified wreath-laying, in memory of The Fallen, will be wearing face coverings.
Keith Simpson, a local lay reader, will be assisting the Town Council at the Monument. Recorded music will be used as bugle-playing of The Last Post is prohibited by one of the emergency measures.
Wooden crosses - usually planted in flower beds near the war memorial by pupils from Brigg schools - have this year been positioned by representatives of the Town Council, in readiness for Sunday. Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall, Deputy Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker and Town Clerk Kerry McGrath carried this out on Wednesday afternoon.
In addition, some large poppies have been attached to lighting columns at various locations in the town ahead of Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day on November 11.
