HOW TO REPORT BRIGG CRIMES DURING LATEST CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN

Members of the public will still be able to call in at Brigg police station to report crimes and make inquiries during November's lockdown period which is being introduced from Thursday by the government.
Humberside Police says opening hours for reception at the Barnard Avenue station remain unaltered.
"The divisional Chief Superintendent has confirmed there will be no reduction in front counter opening hours," the force tells us.
Brigg police station's reception is open four days a week at various times:
Mondays: noon to 4pm & then 5pm to 8pm.
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10am to 2pm & 3pm to 6pm.
Saturdays: 9am to 1pm & 2pm to 5pm.
The office is closed to the public on Tuesdays, Fridays & Sundays.
It was not only impending lockdown which prompted Brigg Blog to contact police headquarters...
Reported delays in getting through to talk to the force when calling the 101 non-emergency number, in some cases, were mentioned by Coun Ann Eardley during Brigg Town Council's latest meeting.
That prompted Coun Nigel Sherwood to inquire whether Coun Eardley had written to Humberside's Chief Constable about the matter.
Coun Rob Waltham pointed out that operational matters were controlled by the chief and his senior officers, rather than the Crime Commissioner who previously attended a Town Council meeting in the Angel Suite.
Brigg Blog took to our own beat and ventured out on inquiries to check how local residents can contact the Humberside force.
Reception had just closed for an hour when we arrived at the police station off Barnard Avenue, which denied us a nostalgic return to premises we visited several times a week on 'police calls' duty for the Lincolnshire Times 40 years ago.
However, informative signage outside the entrance answered the questions we were going to put, and lists opening hours,
A notice outside the entry door informs people needing assistance when the office is closed to call the force on 101 or visit the main police station on Corporation Road, Scunthorpe (near the Plowright Theatre).
Obviously, if it's an emergency situation, you MUST call 999.
We think some Brigg folk will be unaware that Brigg police station is open to the public as often as it is.
During lockdown the police and other emergency services (fire and ambulance)  will be available, as ever, should we need them.
