SUPERVISOR RETIRES AFTER 35 YEARS AT BRIGG SCHOOLS

While chatting to former Brigg Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley a few weeks ago in the Market Place, she informed us she was about to retire from work after 35 years as a school playground supervisor - 30 at the Vale and the final five at Brigg Primary.
Ann has now announced her retirement through a social media post and says she is going to miss all the smiling and polite children.
"It has been so rewarding over the years," she stresses. "I will treasure the memories.of everyone I've looked after. It's a long time since December 14th, 1986. The pay then was £12.50 a week, and we had a meal every day. Thank you for the memories everyone."
Community-minded Ann is also well-known for her work with the young DONKEY Action Group volunteers over many years, as well Brigg In Bloom, the Poppy Appeal, St John Ambulance and as a very long-serving member of Brigg Town Council. She was elected Town Mayor for 2016/17.
She was born into the Stothard family which has connections with this area going back to the 1600s.
