BRIGG TOWN FC IN FIVE-GOAL CUP-TIE


Brigg Town progressed to the next round of the FA Vase with a 3-2 win over Cammell Laird 1907 at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) yesterday (Saturday, September 11).
Brigg led 2-1 at the interval through goals by Scott Phillips (penalty) and Dayle Hutson.
Scott then put the Zebras further ahead midway through the second half before the visitors from The Wirrall reduced the arrears in the final minute.
This tie was watched by 269 spectators - another sizeable crowd for the Zebras who top of the table in NCEL Div One.
Brigg Town Development lost 9-1 away to Grantham Town Academy yesterday in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
Briggensians lost 6-0 when hosting Scotter United in EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League Division One yesterday.
Barnetby United Reserves v Crowle Colts Development, in Division Two, was postponed.
Barnetby's first teamers were without a scheduled fixture in the top flight.

Brigg Town FC have received a home tie in the second round of the Northern Counties East League Cup. The Zebras will be at home to Yorkshire side Parkgate (also members of Division One) on a date to be confirmed.
