NEW HOUSING APPROVED IN BRIGG INCLUDING APARTMENTS

A scheme to create four new residential property units in Brigg has been approved by North Lincolnshire Council.
Included is a single-storey extension to an existing shop beside the A18.
The council has granted an application seeking planning permission to erect two dwellings, two two-storey apartments with new undercroft access and landscaped parking court, a single-storey extension to a retail shop with store and amended loading bay, and demolition of redundant and abandoned yard buildings at 15 Bridge Street (Dean Wray Carpets).
Rear access will be off Engine Street on the southern edge of the site which will have a turning area and parking spaces provided.
A delegated report by North Lincolnshire Council staff on this application said the proposed buildings "represent a high quality of design" and would "fit in well" with nearby properties.
Dean Wray, Dean Wray Carpets Ltd, made the successful application through an agent.
In granting planning permission, the council has stipulated that work must start within three years.
