RAILWAYMEN AT FULL STEAM

Barnetby eased past a plucky Gunness and Burringham side rattling up 12 goals as they progressed to round two of The Sporting Shield.
James Hannabuss opened the scoring with strikes from O’Callaghan and Andy Bradley soon putting The Railwaymen in control. Gunness and Burringham soon showed that they simple hadn’t just turned up and were rewarded with an excellent finish to make it 3-1.
Stung into action, Goodman rifled in a 25-yarder to make it 4-1 and following a defensive mix up captain Joe Scott coolly chipped home right-footed from the edge of the box.
5-1 at the break quickly became six as O’Callaghan burst into the box and his centre was unfortunately turned into his own net by a defender.
Scott headed his 2nd of the afternoon to make it 7-1. He then completed the perfect hat trick striking home with his left foot from 12 yards and added his 4th of the afternoon with a powerful header from a sumptuous Alex Green cross.
O’Callaghan added his 2nd 3rd and 4th of the afternoon, the last of which was a neat finish following a mazy run to make it 12-1.
The Railwaymen had the chance to make it 13-1 from the spot but Fielden’s weakly hit penalty caused the Gunness keeper little trouble.
