BRIGG CHEF TASTES SUCCESS WITH UNCLE HENRY'S IN NATIONAL FOOD QUALITY COMPETITION

A chef from Brigg is celebrating success in a prestigious national food quality competition, held at the weekend.
Linda North works for the well-known Uncle Henry's Farm Shop, Butchery & Cafe at Grayingham (near Kirton Lindsey) which triumphed at the British Pie Awards 2021 at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
Uncle Henrys said it was absolutely thrilled to have been awarded champion of the lamb pie class for its lamb & mint pie and gave "a huge thank you to our lovely pie-maker Linda for her fantastic pies made with her home-made pastry and locally sourced ingredients."
Linda's very proud husband Martin told Brigg Blog that in addition to winning gold in the lamb and mint category, there was a silver award in the chicken & ham and pork pie section, plus a bronze in the steak & ale category.
Martin and Linda formerly ran a number of local licensed premises, including Brigg's Ancholme Inn, Jollies at Wrawby and the Marquis of Granby in Waddingham.
