Plans have been announced to create a new licensed bar in one of Brigg town centre's most prominent listed buildings.
Subject to 'change of use' planning permission being granted by North Lincolnshire Council and an alcohol licence being obtained, the long-vacant former HSBC bank premises in the Market Place will house the ground floor bar, with the reminder of the grade two listed building providing apartments and an office suite.
A planning application relating to 27 Market Place has now been submitted for consideration by North Lincolnshire Council.
Supporting information supplied to the local authority says: "The conversion of the ground floor into a bar will principally involve the removal of the suspended ceilings, glazed and stud partitions. This will open the space and any original features exposed will be retained where practical. The main feature is the Vault and this will be retained and a feature made of it by incorporating it into the new servery."
The application has been submitted through a Grimsby-based agent.
It is estimated this development, if approved, will create 11 jobs - eight of which will be part-time.
Brigg Blog recently reported that these premises, pictured here, had been sold.
