BRIGG SCHOOL REUNION IN DOUBT

A major school reunion for former Brigg pupils is now looking in doubt.
Dozens of people who attended Sir John Nelthorpe School, Brigg Grammar, Brigg Girls' High and Brigg Sixth Form usually meet up in March for a showpiece dinner, held at Elsham Golf Club.
However, the Briggensians' Association, which does the organisation, is not currently expecting to be able to hold the scheduled get-together in March 2021, due to the Coronavirus emergency.

IF it cannot go ahead, the dinner will be rescheduled for later next year, as long as the situation improves and it's safe to meet.
The annual dinner in March this year went ahead, but only just. It was held at Elsham Golf Club just a few days before the government imposed lockdown on licensed premises.
However. many guests who had paid for tickets took last-minute decisions not to attend.
Those who did take their places enjoyed a good evening with an interesting illustrated talk delivered by the guest speaker - globetrotting wildlife photographer David Horsley, educated at Brigg Grammar in the 1960s.
The Briggensians' Association - representing former pupils and staff - was founded in July 1923.
The first annual dinner was held on January 5, 1924 at the Woolpack Hotel, in Brigg Market Place, when tickets cost 5 shillings (25p).
