BRIGG MAYORAL UPDATE

Brigg Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall is to complete another full term as the community's first citizen, meaning that she will serve for the next eight months.
Then, at the Town Council's annual meeting in May 2021, Coun Brian Parker, currently Deputy Town Mayor, will be proposed to take charge for the next TWO years.
Coun Parker was due to have become installed as Mayor in May 2020 but this was put on hold due to the Coronavirus emergency - staging a celebratory 'Mayor-making' ceremony being considered inappropriate in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
It was agreed that Coun Riggall, due to end her year in office, would continue in the role until it was thought appropriate to induct a successor. It has now been agreed that she will continue in the role until May 2021.
The Town Council received an update at its latest meeting when Coun Carl Sherwood proposed that Coun Parker should be elected, in due course, to serve  successive terms.
