BRIGG TOWN'S WHOPPING WIN PROMPTS THOUGHTS OF PROMOTION

Brigg Town Football Club's cracking start to the season reached new heights with a whopping home win yesterday (Saturday, October 17).
The Zebras recorded their biggest league win for years - 8-0 when hosting Retford FC at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns.
Still unbeaten in the league, Brigg are now third in ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One and have games in hand on the sides above them.
Andrew Taylor and Reece Moody both scored twice, with further goals flowing from Alfie Usher Jack Boswell, Stephen McCarron and Jack Bowskin.
Town were four ahead by the interval when it was pretty much game over in terms of the outcome against the mid-table visitors from Nottinghamshire.
Another boost for Brigg was the sizeable attendance - 262, not far short of the 300 maximum permitted under the current Coronavirus emergency measures.
Town's first teamers have won four and drawn one of their opening five league games. With 33 fixtures still to come, it's early days to be talking in terms of promotion. But faithful fans must be wondering whether 2020/21 is going to be Town's year to rise again in the football pyramid.
Brigg Town Reserves lost 1-0 on their visit to Lincoln United Development in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier yesterday.
