The monthly Brigg Farmers' Market is coming up this weekend, and public transport has a part to play in helping people get into town for this event.
Stalls and vans selling a variety of produce, including cheese, meat, cakes, jam and bread , plus fast food takeaways, will feature in the Market Place on Saturday, October 24, from 9am until mid-afternoon. The adjoining Saturday general market will also be operating.
Brigg's award-winning farmers' market, established 20 years ago and operated by North Lincolnshire Council, draws people from far and wide. Free parking is available to those shoppers coming by car.
Hopefully some visitors from other areas will use the Saturday-only passenger train service to Brigg and visit the market in addition to calling at other shops and businesses within the town centre.
Local buses provided by Hornsbys, JustGo and Lincolnshire Call Connect will also be available to bring people into Brigg - the latter two being dial-a-ride.
We spotted a helpful Twitter message posted by stallholder Goacher's Fruit urging people not to get confused by the date of the farmers' market due to there being FIVE Saturdays in October. It's being held on the 24th and NOT the 31st.
The main picture above shows a previous October market when social distancing was not at issue.
