BRIGG CONSERVATION AREA TREES SHOULD BE REMOVED ON SAFETY GROUNDS, COUNCIL TOLD

A member of the public has come forward to support a plan to remove trees from the Brigg Conservation Area. Bridge Street Surgery, through an agent, is seeking permission to fell two silver birches in its rear car park.
Now someone who uses the practice has informed North Lincolnshire Council that car damage has been sustained "on more than one occasion" due to "falling debris" from these trees. The patient suggests that, on safety grounds, these trees should be removed.
Consulted about the notice of intention to fell the silver birches, Brigg Town Council has lodged an objection, saying these are healthy trees within the conservation area.
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering the application but has yet to announce its decision. A four-week public consultation period ended on Friday (October 9).
