A Vampire Book Feast in the run up to Halloween is being held in Brigg tonight (Thursday, October 21).... after the sun goes down and it gets dark!
It will take place in the Angel Suite, off Exchange Place, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Tickets, costing £3.50p, can be obtained from the Angel Hub (entrance off the Market Place) or at the Rabbit Hole shop in the Market Place, which is hosting this event.
Or use this link to book yours online, if you prefer...
The feast features novelist Amy McCaw and Catherine Wynne, who is a specialist when it comes to Bram Stoker, author of the original, classic Dracula book. Copies of Mina and Bram Stoker Horror Stories (illustrated above) can still be obtained from the Rabbit Hole, if you can't make tonight's event.
This topic reminds us of the mid-1980s when Dracula's Breakfast was a cocktail being requested over the bar at some Brigg pubs. We sampled it at the Queens Arms, on Wrawby Street... but only once. Does anyone else remember this cocktail?
