Brigg Town Council has agreed to support a local Good Neighbours scheme.
Full details have yet to be announced. However, during the latest meeting, Coun Rob Waltham gave an example... townsfolk helping people living nearby with their shopping requirements.
He hoped to see the lettering 'Brigg - A Good Neighbours Town' eventually being underneath approach road signs.
The idea is for people to act as good neighbours and live by the rules.
Coun Waltham also suggested the designation of some 'Talking/Chatting Benches' - suitably labelled - where people can hold conversations.
Coun Waltham also expressed a wish to see more Neighbourhood Watch schemes established in Brigg, which does not have many at present.
He did not go into detail, but neighbourhood watch (a countrywide initiative) can include better home security and residents keeping an eye out for crimes - reporting local incidents and any crime concerns to the police.
Brigg Blog recalls a Chatty Bench being established a couple of years ago on College Yard (pictured here). It was the town's first. The bench is still there but minus the adornments.
