Two hundred people had taken part in an online survey about public transport, Brigg Town Council's latest meeting was informed. And the final total may well have been higher, as there were two days still to go before the survey concluded when Coun Rob Waltham revealed this figure.
His reference to the Bus Service Improvement Plan was part of a monthly update given to fellow town councillors about North Lincolnshire Council matters relating to Brigg.
Coun Waltham is Leader of the unitary authority which, together with other councils across country, is bidding for a sizeable pot of Government money to help improve local public transport.
Public transport users in Brigg and district will be hoping local services may benefit if North Lincolnshire Council's subsequent bid, following this survey, proves successful.
During the latest Town Council meeting, Coun Waltham noted an issue raised by Coun Ann Eardley.
She was concerned about "out of date" bus timetable information being on display in the town following changes to departure times introduced recently by Hornsbys, involving its No 4 service linking Brigg with Scunthorpe.
Coun Eardley also expressed concerns about the visibility of some of the display boards, which are behind glass.
It is understood that boards at bus stops are provided as a public service by North Lincolnshire Council.
The day after the council meeting, Brigg Blog had a routine appointment to keep in Broughton and used the No 4 service. It left Cary Lane about 10 minutes later than used to be the case.
While awaiting the arrival of a late morning bus back to Brigg, we noted that display boards on Broughton High Street were still showing the 'old' times. North Lincolnshire Council has been informed.
A printed notice recently displayed on Hornsbys buses serving Brigg asked passengers to note that journeys to Foxhills Industrial Estate "will be withdrawn." This estate is near Scunthorpe's northern boundary.
Hornsbys says the No 4 service has a revised timetable throughout the day. Its X4 service has seen "some minor timetable changes."
