BRIGG FOOTBALLERS GO TOP OF THE TABLE

 

Before another sizeable crowd, Brigg Town Football Club regained the league leadership with a welcome home win yesterday (Saturday, October 9).
The Zebras defeated Hull side Hall Road Rangers 3-0 at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns).
A Scott Phillips penalty put Brigg ahead eight minutes before half-time, with Jack Richardson and James Playford adding further goals late in the second half.
The gate was 326, and Brigg Town now lead ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One by two points and have a game in hand on second-placed Hallam.
Brigg Town Development were beaten 4-0 at Lincoln Moorlands Railway yesterday in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
A new Brigg Saturday football team made its competitive debut yesterday in the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League.
Briggensians Reserves drew 3-3 away to Glenys in Group B on the Nev Watson Nursing Cup. On the mark for the Brigg team were Ben Toyne (2) and George Marshall.
The Briggensians first teamers lost 4-1 when hosting Baltic Boys in Group B of the Johnson Transport Hospital Cup - the Brigg team's goal being scored by Luke Jollands.
In a Tortank Barton Brotherhood Cup Group B fixture, Barnetby United Reserves lost 3-2 at home to Messingham United. Barnetby's goals came from Brendan O'Callaghan and Danny Thompson.
Barnetby's first teamers did not have a league or cup fixture yesterday.
