BRIGG MARKET CANCELLED DUE TO WINTRY WEATHER

North Lincolnshire Council has just informed us that Brigg Market will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, February 11) "due to the weather."
It's rare for the stalls to be kept locked in their store by wintry conditions, but it did happen on Thursday, March 1, 2018 when we were hit by the so-called Beast from the East which brought particularly heavy snow.
Pictured here is a Saturday farmers' market some years ago which went ahead - but only just. Conditions were pretty grim.
We'll keep in touch with the council and let you know about the market due to be held on Saturday (February 13).

Expect cold weather with the risk of snow for the remainder of this week, says the Met Office. Then it will get milder.

UPDATE: The fruit and veg stall will be setting up in the former Molly's Flowers shop in the Market Place on Thursday morning.
