A new Brigg business has opened in the Market Place - just a stone's throw from the County Bridge.
The Brigg Barber salon's proprietor, Ramin Khorsheedi, is pictured here soon after he opened to the public for the first time.
A basic hair cut costs £10 (adult) and £7 for children (under 10).
Fades, trims, wet shaves and hot towel waxings are also available, while ear and nasal hair can be tackled for those of us in a certain age group.
These sizeable premises have been fitted out to a high standard over recent weeks, and we wish Ramin well with his venture.
He tells us he will opening seven days a week.
While visiting the Brigg Barber we couldn't help reflecting on how much things have changed since childhood trips for "short back and sides with not too much off the top" in the 1960s.
Many Brigg parents would instruct their kids to ensure they returned home with "a proper haircut" - meaning plenty taken off.
This was on economic grounds to extend the time before the next visit to the chair.
It was common for parents to accompany their male offspring to ensure these instructions were carried out.
A few domestic battles resulted locally as the late 1960s and early 1970s saw a national trend towards longer hair for boys, while their dads often stuck with traditional styles.
