NEW BAR & RESTAURANT GETS READY TO OPEN NEAR BRIGG

The Millfield - our area's newest bar and restaurant - will be opening soon "and offering something completely different for Brigg and Broughton."
It is located on the former Arties Mill site at Castlethorpe, just off the A18 at DN20 9LF.
Considerable investment means it will offer plush decor and a range of new features.
The management kindly invited Brigg Blog down for a guided tour and highlighted the completely refurbished dining area.

The venue opens its doors to the public on Wednesday, April 27th, with Derbyshire-based singer Mike Hardy (pictured) performing from 7pm to 9pm in The Bar. Also joining the launch night roster is Tom Wright, who will be bringing a magical experience between 7pm-9pm to guests in The Orangery.
The Millfield Bar & Restaurant will be serving up delicious drinks from this date, with the food side of the business awaiting the perfect team. Refurbishment of the residential building has begun and will be unveiled once complete.
The Millfield is searching hard for an ambitious chef who can steer the kitchen to greatness. Anyone wishing to apply for the role can send a CV and covering letter to: careers@themillfield.com
The Millfield will be hosting weddings and private functions and is actively welcoming local organisations and groups to use the facilities for a range of events, conferences and meetings.
"We want to support the Brigg and Broughton communities," The Millfield says. "We will work with them and offer local sponsorship, given time."
The main bar offers a selection of ales, ciders and fine wines - well-known brands including Theakston, Guinness, Amstel and Moretti.
The Champagne Bar, also serving wines and cocktails, has a quirky bell guests can push to summon table service; this intimate area can be hired out for parties up to 20.
There is a private dining room on the first floor, and those eating at The Millfield can do so with gold cutlery.
The lavish Orangery will be offering breakfasts, afternoon tea and coffee, and plated Sunday lunches.
A white piano has been installed to add style and music to the setting.
When the kitchen is ready to fire up the ovens, locally-sourced produce will be used in the dishes and The Millfield plans to grow its own vegetables in due course, the land being available for this on the sizeable site which has the largest licensed premises car park in the district.
For those Brigg residents thinking of visiting The Millfield, it's worth considering that we recently walked home from this venue, and we live on the other side of the town!
