At the Bike Night at the Brigg Town Football Club ground on Wednesday (April 6), Kathy Wright just happened to mention that one outstanding item on her bucket list was a ride on a Harley-Davidson motorbike, writes KEN HARRISON, of Brigg Matters magazine.
Kath's fairy godmother must have been about as nearby Pete, from Holton-le-Clay, with his HD was scoffing his burger bun.
"Let me finish this and I give you a ride about the car park," he said.
Kathy nearly fainted and had to be resuscitated with a stiff drink in the clubhouse!
She was like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, with a massive grin on her face, as they completed a number of circuits about the car park.
"We hadn't even started before her arms were wrapped around me," Pete indicated.
It was suggested that the next step should be a sortie down the motorway, but Kathy was completely satisfied at her impromptu experience.
"It's just one more thing that I can now cross out from my bucket lists of To-Do's," she added.
It seems Kathy has hidden talents; later she was heard talking to Richard Taylor, one of Brigg Town FC's directors, saying that in times past, she was a player in Brigg's women's football team, reminding him that there use to be a photo of such in the clubhouse at one time.
Well, here are a few pics to validate your bragging claims, of your most recent happening, Kathy...
N.F. ADDS: Many thanks to Ken for his pictures and report. His images include a live performance by Common Faults indie & rock band and also give a reminder that Pip's Kitchen is a popular eatery at what's now known as the EC Surfacing Stadium (formerly the Hawthorns) and not just on match days.
